Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 105002  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the brake wear sensor electrical connector.
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor bracket and retaining bolt from the strut.
  7. Remove the brake line bracket and retaining bolt from the strut.
  8. Remove the road sensing suspension electrical connector (if equipped).

  10. Remove the strut to steering knuckle mounting bolts and nuts.
  11. Lower the vehicle.

  12. Object Number: 402795  Size: SH
  13. Remove the upper strut mount retaining bolts.
  14. Remove the strut from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 402795  Size: SH
  1. Install the strut.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the upper strut mount retaining bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the strut upper mount retaining bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Raise the vehicle.

  7. Install the strut to steering knuckle mounting bolts and nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the strut to knuckle bolts to 147 N·m (108 lb ft).

  9. Install the brake line bracket and retaining bolt to the strut.
  10. Install the wheel speed sensor bracket and retaining bolt to the strut.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the brake line and wheel speed sensor bracket to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  12. Connect the wheel speed sensor connector.
  13. Connect the road sensing suspension strut electrical connector (if equipped).
  14. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
