Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer
to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in
General Information.
- Loosen and lower pinch clamp connecting the bank 1 intermediate
pipe/hose (1) to the crossover pipe/hose (2).
- Loosen and lower the pinch clamp connecting the bank 1 intermediate
pipe/hose (1) to the AIR shut-off valve.
- Remove the nut securing the bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose
(1) to the transaxle.
- Remove the nut securing the bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose
(1) to the AIR shut-off valve bracket.
- Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe.
- Carefully remove the bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose (1)
from the engine.
Installation Procedure
- Carefully install the
bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Reconnect the EGR
pipe.
Tighten
Tighten the EGR pipe to 60 N·m (43 lb ft).
- Install the nuts securing the bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose
(1) to the AIR shut-off valve bracket and the transaxle.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the hose and pinch clamp connecting the bank 1
intermediate pipe/hose (1) to the AIR shut-off valve.
- Install the hose and pinch clamp connecting the bank 1
intermediate pipe/hose (1) to the AIR crossover pipe/hose (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
