Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Left Side LHD

Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

•	Air bag deployment

•	Personal injury

•	Unnecessary SIR system repairs

In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:

•	Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.

•	If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the instrument panel (IP) upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
3. Remove one fastener near the IP cluster at IP retainer.
4. Lift the outboard end of the trim plate to disengage locating tab and pull rearward.

1. Align the woodgrain trim panel to the IP retainer.
2. Install the fastener from the trim panel to the IP retainer.
3. Install the IP upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.

•	If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.




1. Disable the SIR. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the instrument panel (IP) upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
3. Remove the fasteners from the trim panel to IP retainer.
4. Remove the inflatable restraint instrument panel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.



5. Remove the 2 fasteners from the straps at the carrier.
6. Pull the trim panel rearward in order to remove.

1. Align the trim panel to the IP retainer.
2. Install the trim panel fastener to the IP retainer.



3. Install the strap fasteners to the carrier.
4. Install the inflatable restraint instrument panel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
5. Install the IP upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
6. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
