Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the push-in retainers
(2) retaining the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body (1).
- Remove the rear wheelhouse extensions. Refer to
Wheelhouse Extension Replacement - Rear
in Exterior
Trim.
- Remove the bolt retaining
the rear bumper fascia at the wheelhouse opening.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement
in Body
Rear End.
- Remove the rear compartment side trim panels. Refer to
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side
and
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the bolts retaining the rear bumper fascia to the quarter
panels.
- Remove the nuts (2)
retaining the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body.
- Remove the rear bumper fascia (1) from the body.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear bumper
fascia (1) to the body.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts (2)
to retain the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the bolts to retain
the rear bumper fascia to the quarter panels.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the rear compartment side trim panels. Refer to
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side
and
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side
in Body Rear End.
- Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement
in Body
Rear End.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Install the bolt retaining the rear bumper fascia at the wheelhouse
opening.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the rear wheelhouse
extensions. Refer to
Wheelhouse Extension Replacement - Rear
in Exterior Trim.
- Install the push-in retainers (2) retaining the rear bumper fascia (1)
to the body (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
