  1. Disconnect the rear heated seat module connector C1.
  2. Backprobe the rear heated seat module connector C1 with a DMM from cavity B (ORN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Backprobe the rear heated seat module connector C1 with a DMM from cavity B (ORN) to cavity E (BLK).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the rear heated seat module connector C1 with a DMM from cavity A, CKT 41 (BRN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  2. Select INPUTS from the driver door module (DDM) DATA LIST.
  3. Press the suspect rear heated seat switch.

Does the scan tool indicate that the suspect switch is ON when pressed and OFF when not pressed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position .
  2. Disconnect the rear door module connector C1.
  3. Connect a DMM from the rear door module connector C1 cavity 14 (BRN) to cavity 10 (TAN/WHT) (LH) or (BLK/WHT) (RH).
  4. Press the rear heated seat switch.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the rear heated seat switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM from the rear door module connector C1 cavity 14 (BRN) to the rear heated seat switch connector cavity C (BRN).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Connect a DMM from the rear heated seat switch connector cavity D (TAN/WHT) to the rear door module connector cavity 10 (TAN/WHT) (LH) or (BLK/WHT) (RH).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

Repair the open in CKT 551 (TAN/WHT) (LH) or CKT 451 (TAN/WHT) (RH). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the rear heated seat module connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to the rear heated seat module connector C1 cavity C (PNK) (LH) or (BRN) (RH).
  3. Press the rear heated seat switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the rear integration module (RIM) connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM from the rear heated seat module connector C1 cavity C (PNK) (LH) or (BRN) (RH) to the RIM connector C1 cavity A5 (LT GRN) (LH) or cavity A6 (GRY) (RH).

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the rear heated seat module connector C2.
  2. Disconnect the rear heated seat module connector C3.
  3. Connect a DMM from the rear heated seat module connector C3 cavity A to cavity B.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

1.5-10 ohms

Connect a DMM from the rear heated seat module connector C2 cavity A (GRY) (LH) or (DK GRN) (RH) to cavity B (BRN) (LH) or (LT GRN) (RH).

Is the resistance within the specified value?

1.5-10 ohms

Connect a DMM from the rear heated seat module connector C2 cavity C (LT BLU) (LH) or (ORN) (RH) to cavity D (DK BLU) (LH) or (PNK) (RH).

Important: If the resistance is measured with the seat still warm, the resistance may vary outside of the specified range since the thermistor resistance varies with temperature.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

850 - 1150 ohms

Repair the open or short to ground in CKT 750 (BLK) between the rear heated seat module and the rear fuse block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  2. Connect a DMM from the rear heated seat module connector C2 cavity A (GRY) (LH) or (DK GRN) (RH) to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?
