For a LH mirror left movement, the driver door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 82 (LT BLU) and ground via CKT 81 (WHT) to the LH mirror horizontal motor. For a LH mirror right movement, the driver door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 81 (WHT) and ground via CKT 82 (LT BLU) to the LH mirror horizontal motor. For a LH mirror up movement, the driver door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 88 (YEL) and ground via CKT 89 (LT GRN) to the LH mirror vertical motor. For a LH mirror down movement, the driver door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 89 (LT GRN) and ground via CKT 88 (YEL) to the LH mirror vertical motor.
For a RH mirror left movement, the passenger door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 90 (LT BLU) and ground via CKT 88 (WHT) to the RH mirror horizontal motor. For a RH mirror right movement, the passenger door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 88 (WHT) and ground via CKT 90 (LT BLU) to the RH mirror horizontal motor. For a RH mirror up movement, the passenger door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 1498 (YEL) and ground via CKT 889 (LT GRN) to the RH mirror vertical motor. For a RH mirror down movement, the passenger door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 889 (LT GRN) and ground via CKT 1498 (YEL) to the RH mirror vertical motor.
Mirrors that also have memory function still manually move as described above. There are also position sensors that are potentiometers which attached to each motor's transmission cable. When the cable rotates, the resistance of the potentiometer varies and the feedback voltage is monitored by the appropriate door module to determine the motor's position. The sensor feedback voltage vary from 0.25 volts to 4.75 volts. Each door module supplies a 5 volt reference voltage through CKT 788 (RED/BLK) and reference ground through CKT 782 (PPL/BLK) to the respective mirror position sensors. The driver door module receives the feedback voltage input from the LH mirror horizontal position sensor through CKT 786 (LT BLU/BLK). The driver door module receives the feedback voltage input from the LH mirror vertical position sensor through CKT 784 (DK GRN/BLK). The passenger door module receives the feedback voltage input from the RH mirror horizontal position sensor through CKT 786 (LT BLU/BLK). The passenger door module receives the feedback voltage input from the RH mirror vertical position sensor through CKT 784 (DK GRN/BLK). When a memory set command is received, each door module records the motor positions by storing the feedback voltage of their respective position sensors. When a memory recall command is received, each door module moves the motors until all the position sensor feedback voltages equals the feedback voltages stored in memory.
The mirror select switch on the LH front power window switch is placed in L or R to indicate the mirror to be folded. The LH front power window switch receives the active high input from the mirror select switch and also receives an active high input from the express fold mirror switch when the switch is actuated. The LH front power window switch then sends a message on the Simple Bus Interface (SBI) to the driver door module or the passenger door module depending on the position of the mirror select switch indicating that the mirror switch need to be folded. Each mirror has a reversible motor that the door modules control by supplying Battery Positive Voltage (B+) and ground to the motor. The express folding mirrors will either extend or retract to the end of travel and will not stop in between. For a mirror extend, the door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 190 (PNK) and ground via CKT 191 (ORN) to the mirror power fold motor until the mirror fully extends. For a mirror retract, the door module supplies Battery Positive Voltage (B+) via CKT 191 (ORN) and ground via CKT 190 (PNK) to the mirror power fold motor until the mirror fully retracts.
