Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
- Remove the bolts (2)
retaining the front bumper impact bar (1).
- Remove the front bumper impact bar (1).
- Remove the nut (1)
retaining the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3).
- Remove the nuts (2) retaining the front of the front bumper
impact bar bracket (3).
- Remove the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) from the
vehicle.
- Remove the stud plate
retainer (2) from the stud plate (1).
- Remove the stud plate (1) from the body.
Installation Procedure
- Install the stud plate (1)
to the body.
- Install the stud plate retainer (2) to the stud plate (1).
- Install the front bumper
impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut
(1) to retain the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the nuts (2) to retain the front of the front bumper
impact bar bracket (3).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the front bumper
impact bar (1).
- Install the bolts (2) to retain the front bumper impact
bar (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Close the hood.
