Calibrating the Automatic Day-Night Mirror Compass using the Autocal Feature

The automatic day-night mirror has an autocal compass which automatically calibrates, during normal driving conditions, in order to prevent vehicles unique magnetic fields from causing the mirror to display the wrong compass direction. During calibration, the letter "C" displays. Calibration is completed when the "C" changes to the correct directional heading. Once calibrated, the mirror does not need to be recalibrated. When you turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, calibration does not change.

Calibrating the Automatic Day-Night Mirror Compass Manually

  1. If the "C" displays, drive the vehicle slowly (5 mph or less) in a 360 degree circle until the display reads the compass direction.
  2. If the "C" does not display, turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Turn the automatic day-night mirror on. Press the calibration switch by inserting the end of a paper clip into the hole on the bottom of the mirror. Hold the paper clip in the hole for 10 seconds until the letter "C" appears in the display. Drive the vehicle slowly (5 mph or less) in a 360 degree circle until the display reads a compass direction.
