Did you perform the Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System check?

  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Open the driver door or the passenger door.
  3. Press the driver or the passenger power door lock switch.
  4. Close the driver door and the passenger door. The CTD system should now arm.

Does the CTD system arm properly?

Complete the following steps for each door in order to disarm the CTD system:

    • Insert the door key into the door lock cylinder.
    • Turn the key to the UNLOCK position.

Does the CTD system disarm properly?

Attempt to disarm the CTD system by pressing the UNLOCK button on the remote transmitter.

Does the CTD system disarm properly?

Use a scan tool in order to establish communication with the DIM, DDM, and the RIM systems.

Can the scan tool communicate with these systems?

  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Close the driver door and the passenger door.
  3. Press the LOCK button on the remote transmitter.

Does the CTD system arm properly?

Repair the communication malfunction in the system(s) that could not communicate with the scan tool. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic system check.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Inspect the following circuits for an intermittent fault:

    • The driver door ajar switch
    • The passenger door ajar switch(es)
    • The DIM, DDM, and the RIM systems
    • The power door lock switches
    • The door lock cylinder switches
    • The rear lid tamper switch
    • The hood ajar switch (export only)

Did you find and correct the condition?

  1. Replace the RIM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  2. Program the RIM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Reconnect or reinstall any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
  3. Turn on the ignition.
