The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module performs internal tests on the EEPROM each time the RKE module performs a write function to the EEPROM. The RKE module reads back the data that has been written and compares it to the data that was written.
The data read back after a write does not match the data being written after three consecutive attempts.
The RKE module stores a DTC B1007 as current.
No driver warning message is displayed for this DTC.
The RKE module stores the value being written in a diffrent memory address in the EEPROM.
The RKE module no longer detects an internal write malfunction.
A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
The EEPROM cannot be removed from the RKE module.
