  1. Cover the ambient light sensor.
  2. Turn the interior lamps switch to AUTO.
  3. Open then close the LH front door.

Did the front courtesy lamps turn on with the door open and then turn off (after a 25-second delay) after the door was closed?

Does the sunroof operate with the ignition switch in ON?

  1. Close all passenger doors.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Wait 5 seconds, then turn the ignition to OFF.
  4. With a scan tool check the ignition switch state of the DIM.

Does the DIM ignition switch state indicate RAP?

  1. Ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect the DIM connector C1.
  3. Check for voltage from the DIM connector C1 terminal A3 (CKT 3 PNK) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector C1.
  2. Check for voltage from the ignition switch connector C1 terminal B (CKT 3 PNK) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair short to voltage in CKT 3 (PNK).

Is the repair complete?

Check for voltage from the DIM connector C1 terminal A2 (CKT 4 BRN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector C1.
  2. Check for voltage from the ignition switch connector C1 terminal C (CKT 4 BRN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair short to voltage in CKT 4 (BRN).

Is the repair complete?

Check for voltage from the DIM connector C1 terminal A1 (CKT 1390 WHT) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector C2.
  2. Check for voltage from the ignition switch connector C2 terminal E (CKT 1390 WHT) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair short to voltage in CKT 1390 (WHT).
