Check the IGN 1 Fuse in the underhood junction block for an open.

Is the IGN 1 Fuse OK?

--

Check the EXPORT BRK Fuse in the underhood junction block for an open.

Is the EXPORT BRK Fuse OK?

  1. Disconnect the power brake booster pump relay connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the power brake booster pump relay connector cavity 87 (RED) to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the power brake booster pump relay connector cavity 85 (PNK) to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the power brake booster assembly connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp from the power brake booster pump relay connector cavity 87 (RED) to the power brake booster pump assembly connector cavity B (BLK)

Did the test lamp light?

Connect a fused jumper between the power brake booster pump relay connector cavity 87 (RED) and cavity 30 (PNK).

Did the motor run?

--

Go to Step 8

  1. Remove the fused jumper.
  2. Reconnect the power brake booster pump relay connector.
  3. Disconnect power brake pump assembly connector.
  4. Connect a fused jumper from the power brake booster pump assembly cavity A (DK BLU) to ground.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Did the motor run?

--

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the power brake booster pump relay connector.
  3. Connect a DMM from the power brake booster pump relay connector cavity 86 (DK/BLU) to the power brake booster pump assembly cavity A (DK BLU) to ground.

Is the resistance less then specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect the power brake booster pump assembly connector.
  2. With the jumper still in place, connect a test lamp from the power brake booster assembly connector cavity C (PNK) to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Replace the power brake booster pump relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the power brake booster pump relay replacement complete?

Go to Brake Booster Pump System Check

Repair the open in CKT 1809 (DK BLU) between the power brake booster pump relay and the power brake booster pump assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Brake Booster Pump System Check

Repair the open in CKT 1550 (BLK) between the power brake booster pump assembly and G100. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 642 (RED) between the underhood junction block and the power brake booster pump relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Brake Booster Pump System Check

Repair the short to ground in CKT  139 (PNK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Step 20

Repair the short to ground in connector cavity  642 (RED). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Step 21

Repair the open in CKT 139 (PNK) between the underhood junction block and the power brake booster pump relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Replace the power brake booster pump assembly.

Is the power brake booster pump replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 173 (PNK) between the power brake booster pump relay and the power brake booster pump assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Brake Booster Pump System Check

Replace the IGN 1 fuse in the underhood junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the fuse replacement complete?

Replace the EXPORT BRK fuse in the underhood junction block.
