Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion cover. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .
  2. Important: DO NOT attempt to remove the factory heating element from the rear seat cushion cover.

    To ensure customer comfort and satisfaction, it is recommended that all three seat cushion cover heat elements be replaced, even if only one element of the three is non-functional.

  3. Cut the wires (1) of the heat element or elements to be replaced as close to the trim cover (2) as possible.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Replacement heat elements will need to be fit to the seat cover.

    The Seville replacement heat elements, in all positions are fitted before installation, using the procedure below.

  1. Perform the following procedure in order to fit the service heat element to the trim cover:
  2. • With the replacement heat element harness side up, place the service heat element (3) to the inside surface of the trim cover (1).
    • Align the replacement heat element wiring harness "patch" (4) with the trim cover factory "patch" (5).
    • Using a marker, trace the outline of the trim cover seam  (2) onto the replacement heat element (3).

       Important: DO NOT cut the embedded wiring of the replacement heat element.

    • Hold the replacement element up to a light in order to see the embedded wiring in the replacement heat element.
    • Using a pair of scissors, cut the replacement element as close as possible to the line drawn on the heat element, without cutting through the embedded wiring noted in the previous step.

  3. Install the double sided tape, such as 3M Scotchâ„¢ adhesive transfer tape, P/N 06494 or equivalent. to the seat cushion (3), for each of the seat heat elements (1, 2) to be replaced.
  4. Carefully position and press the new heat element/ elements (1, 2) to the seat cushion foam pad (3).
  5. Ensure the new heat elements (1, 2) are laying flat.

  6. Install the rear seat cushion cover. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .
