  1. Backprobe the seat switch connector with a DMM from cavity K (WHT/BLK) (LH) or cavity N (LT GRN) (RH) to ground.
  2. Move the headrest switch UP.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Backprobe the seat switch connector with a DMM from cavity M (BLU/WHT) (LH) or cavity R (YEL) (RH) to ground.
  2. Move the headrest switch DOWN.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the seat switch replacement complete?

  1. Backprobe the headrest motor connector with a DMM from cavity A (WHT/BLK) (LH) or cavity A (LT GRN) (RH) to ground.
  2. Move the headrest switch UP.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Backprobe the headrest motor connector with a DMM from cavity B (BLU/WHT) (LH) or cavity B (YEL) (RH) to ground.
  2. Move the headrest switch DOWN.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the headrest motor. Refer to Front Seat Back Frame Replacement .

Is the headrest motor replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1257 (WHT/BLK) (LH) or CKT 1625 (LT GRN) (RH) between the seat switch and the headrest motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1258 (BLU/WHT) (LH) or CKT 1626 (YEL) (RH) between the seat switch and the headrest motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Select INPUTS from the memory seat module (MSM) DATA DISPLAY.
  4. Operate the LH seat headrest switch in the UP direction.

Did the scan tool indicate that the seat switch input was received?

Operate the LH seat headrest switch in the DOWN direction.

Did the scan tool indicate that the seat switch input was received?

  1. Disconnect the LH headrest motor.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from battery positive voltage (B+) to one motor terminal.
  3. Connect a fused jumper from the other motor terminal to ground.

Did the motor run?

Check for an open or short to ground in CKT 1257 (YEL/BLK) between the MSM and the LH headrest motor.

Is CKT 1257 OK?

Is CKT 1258 OK?

Replace the memory seat module (MSM). Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement .

Is the MSM replacement complete?

  1. Disconnect the LH seat switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the memory seat module (MSM) connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from the LH seat switch connector cavity K (WHT/BLK) to the MSM connector C2 cavity D9 (WHT/BLK).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the LH seat switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the memory seat module (MSM) connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from the LH seat switch connector cavity M (DK BLU/WHT) to the MSM connector C2 cavity D10 (DK BLU/WHT).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

5 ohms
