Sunroof Does Not Close From The Vent Position

Was Power Sunroof System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the harness connector C1 from the Overhead Console Sunroof Switch.
  3. Turn the ignition to ON.
  4. Using a fused jumper wire, jumper terminal 3 to terminal 2 of the Overhead Console Sunroof Switch harness connector C1.

Did the sunroof vent close?

Go to Step 11

  1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the Sunroof Control Module harness connector C2 from the module.
  3. Measure the resistance from terminal 3 of the Overhead Console Sunroof Switch harness connector C1, to terminal 2 of the Sunroof Control Module harness connector C2.

Is the resistance within range specified?

0 - 3 ohms

Go to Step 4

Measure the resistance from terminal 2 of the Overhead Console Sunroof Switch harness connector C1, to terminal 5 of the Sunroof Control Module harness connector C2.

Is the resistance within range specified?

0 - 3 ohms

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the 4-way electrical harness connector C1 from the Sunroof Control Module.
  2. Turn the ignition to ON.
  3. Measure the voltage from terminal A of the 4-way electrical harness connector C1 to ground.

Is the voltage within range specified?

10 - 15 V

Go to Step 6

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System Check

Measure the voltage across terminals A and D (ground) of the Sunroof Control Module harness connector C1.

Is the voltage within range specified?

10 - 15 V

Go to Step 7

  1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
  2. Reconnect the harness connector C1 to the Sunroof Control Module.
  3. Turn the ignition to ON.
  4. Measure the voltage across terminals C and B of the Sunroof Control Module harness connector C1 while moving the Sunroof Vent Switch to CLOSE.

Ignoring polarity, is the voltage within range specified?

9 - 15 V

Replace the Sunroof Control Module.

Repair open in CKT 128 between the Sunroof Control Module and the Overhead Console Sunroof Switch.
