Condition

Apparent Cause

Correction

Water leaks

    • Glass panel not aligned or fitted properly to the roof.
    • Glass panel not closing fully, excessive gap.
    • Drain tubes not properly connected and/or blocked.
    • Glass assembly seal not properly positioned and/or attached securely.
    • Adjust glass panel height and for/aft position.
    • Adjust to specifications, synchronize track and motor.
    • Connect properly and/or unblock or replace drain tubes as required.
    • Install seal properly and/or attached correctly. Install new seal if necessary.

Windnoise

    • Glass panel not properly fitted or aligned.
    • Glass panel not closing fully, excessive gap.
    • Glass assembly seal not properly positioned and/or attached securely.
    • Glass panel seal damaged or excessive gap.
    • Align and/or fit glass panel to specifications. If necessary, install new seal.
    • Adjust to specifications, synchronize track and motor.
    • Install seal properly and/or attach correctly. Install new seal if necessary.
    • Replace seal.

Glass will not vent: glass sticks in opening

    • Glass panel not aligned or fitted properly to the roof.
    • Glass assembly seal not properly positioned and/or attached securely.
    • Seal stuck to metal roof panel.
    • Align and/or fit glass panel to specifications.
    • Install seal properly and/or attach correctly.
    • run feeler gage along edge of seal to loosen.

Glass will not open/close or moves slowly

    • Obstruction or foreign objects in tracks or troughs.
    • Inadequate voltage (12.6 volts) or amperage (3-5 amps).
    • Remove obstructions or foreign objects as required.
    • Check for proper volts/amps. Correct as necessary. Refer to electrical Diagnosis.

Popping/Gurgling sound

Restricted Drain tubes

Unblock and/or correctly route drain tubes.

Glass does not close fully: glass goes past closed position to vent position

Track and motor is not synchronized.

Synchronize track and motor.

Sunroof does not function and /or perform properly

Drive cable or guide broken.

Replace or service as required.

Sunshade is difficult to slide

Sunshade not properly installed.

Check and install sunshade properly.

Noisy operation

    • Glass panel not fitted properly to housing.
    • Lifter arm assemblies not properly attached to glass module.
    • Lifter arm plastic slides not properly installed in track slots.
    • Track assembly not properly secured.
    • Fit glass panel.
    • Properly attach lifter arm assembly to glass module.
    • Properly install or service as necessary.
    • Tighten mounting screws.

Rattles

    • Glass panel not closing fully.
    • Obstructions or foreign objects in tracks or troughs.
    • Adjust to specifications, synchronize track and motor.
    • Remove obstructions or foreign objects as necessary.

Glass panel excessive up/down movement (rattles)

    • Lifter assemblies not properly connected to glass module.
    • Lifter arm plastic slides not properly installed in track slots.
    • Glass panel mounting tabs bent or positioned outboard.
    • Properly connect lifter assemblies to glass module
    • Install lifter arm slides properly.
    • Bend mounting tabs 90° to glass panel.

Tracks rattle

Tracks not attached to housing securely.

Attach tracks securely to housing. Ensure track under clip at rear of housing.

Sunshade Rattles

    • Sunshade not installed properly.
    • Guides loose on track.
    • Check and install sunshade properly.
    • Replace sunshade guides.

Glass scratched

    • Inadequate clearance to roof panel.
    • Clearance to underside of roof panel and reinforcement not adequate.
    • Align or fit glass to specification. Adjust roof crown as last resort.
    • Adjust clearance as required to obtain adequate clearance.
