Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 105444  Size: SH
  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
  4. Remove the door check link cover (2).

  5. Object Number: 105446  Size: SH
  6. Remove the two studs (2) from the door check link arm (1).

  7. Object Number: 105447  Size: SH
  8. Remove the close-out grommet (1) (rear door).

  9. Object Number: 105449  Size: SH
  10. Note the position of the arrow on the check link arm to aid in reassembly.
  11. Remove the two nuts (2) from the check link (1).
  12. Remove the check link from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105449  Size: SH
  1. Install the check link into the door. Ensure the arrow on the check link arm is positioned as noted during removal.
  2. Load check link studs through the access hole in inner panel.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the check link nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the check link nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the close-out grommet (1) (rear door).

  7. Object Number: 105446  Size: SH
  8. Install the check link arm (1) to the door hinge pillar with two studs (2).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the check link arm studs to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  10. Install the cover (2) on the check link arm studs.
  11. Locate the cover with the split facing the inside of the vehicle.
  12. Apply pressure to secure cover on studs.
  13. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
  14. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement
