Replacing or draining the power steering fluid is a two-stage process.

  1. First the old power steering fluid must be flushed from the power steering system with new fluid.
  2. The power steering system must be bled to remove trapped air.

This procedure may be used also in cold climates to flush and change the power steering fluid to Low Temperature Climate Service Fluid, GM P/N 12345866 or equivalent.
