Engine Mount Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 42504 Engine Lift Bracket
    • J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture

    Object Number: 105512  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front two radiator cooling fans. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Motor Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  2. Object Number: 333114  Size: SH
  3. Install the J 42504 Engine Lift Bracket to the engine.

  4. Object Number: 333132  Size: SH
  5. Install the J 42478 Engine Support Fixture Adapters and J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  7. Remove two nuts securing the mount bracket to the engine block.
  8. Remove one bolt securing the brace to the transaxle.

  10. Remove the nut securing the to the frame.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Remove the two upper bolts securing the motor bracket to the engine.
  13. Remove the mount and bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105512  Size: SH
  1. Install the mount and bracket.
  2. Loosely install the two upper bolts securing the mount bracket to the engine.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Install the engine support brace.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install two nuts securing the support brace and the bolt to the support brace.
  7. Tighten

    1. Tighten the nuts and bolts in the following sequence.
    2. Tighten the mount bracket left nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the right mount bracket nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    4. Tighten the motor brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    5. Tighten the two upper mount brace bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
  8. Remove the J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture.

  9. Object Number: 333114  Size: SH
  10. Remove the J 42504 Engine Lift Bracket.

  11. Object Number: 333131  Size: SH
  12. Remove the J 42478 Engine Support Fixture Adapter.
  13. Install the two radiator cooling fans. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Motor Replacement in Engine Cooling.

Engine Mount Replacement Right

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 105771  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Support the engine assembly with suitable jack.
  3. Remove the nut securing the motor mount to the motor mount bracket.

  4. Object Number: 154972  Size: SH
  5. Lower the jack allowing the engine lower slightly.
  6. Remove the bolt (1) securing the mount to the frame.
  7. Remove two nuts (3) securing mount to frame.
  8. Remove the mount (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the mount (2).
  2. Install the mount attaching bolt (1) to frame.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install two nuts securing the mount to frame (3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  6. Raise the motor in position.

  8. Install the nut to the mount and mount bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the mount nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  10. Remove the engine support jack.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
