INSPECTION: IF THE ABOVE RADIO COMES IN FOR REPAIR, INSPECT THE SERIAL NUMBER LABEL FOR A PINK MARK ACROSS THE "1" OF THE MODEL YEAR.
IF THE PINK MARK IS PRESENT OR THE SERIAL NUMBER IS ABOVE 1014871, NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED.
IF THE PINK MARK IS NOT PRESENT OR THE SERIAL NUMBER IS BELOW 1014871, PERFORM THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATION TO THE RADIO.
STEP 1: CHANGE R72 ON THE RECEIVER BOARD (REFERENCE 1990 2V SUPP. #1, PG. V-54) FROM A 1 MEG OHM RESISTOR TO A 10 MEG OHM RESISTOR (P/N 16017968).
STEP 2: MARK THROUGH THE "1" OF THE MODEL YEAR ON THE SERIAL NUMBER LABEL WITH A PINK MARKER.
YOU WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL .1 HOUR ON ALL IN WARRANTY UNITS WHEN THE ABOVE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED. WHEN FILING THE AC-DELCO 1078/775 FORM, PUT AN 'X' IN THE LABOR CODE COLUMN AND PUT '101T' IN THE MODEL NUMBER COLUMN.
