The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Customers may advise that they are having difficulty programming the Bluetooth® system in a 2009 Cadillac STS.

There are 2 different Bluetooth® systems available on the 2009 STS.

Vehicles with NAV radio (RPO YQ4) have a Bluetooth® system that is part of the NAV radio. Refer to Navigation Radio Supplement for programming and operation.

Vehicles with Non-NAV radios (RPO YQ1 or YQ2) have a Bluetooth® system that is part of the OnStar® GEN8 VCIM. This will be identified by RPO UPF. Non-NAV vehicles without RPO UPF will not have Bluetooth®. Phone compatibility and programming assistance for the OnStar® based system can be found at www.gm.com/vc/bluetooth/

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
