This PI was superseded to include the seat cushion blower and to extend the breakpoint out to October 31, 2006. Please discard PIC4213.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Battery goes dead and or a fan heard running in the seat with the ignition off.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This may be caused by a diode in the Seat Back or Seat Cushion Ventilation Blower in some 2006 and 2007 model year vehicles built between May 12, and October 31, 2006 with RPO KB6. The supplier has corrected this in production and verified that no bad parts were shipped to GMSPO. If this condition is encountered, replace the Seat Back Ventilation Blower with PN 88993048 or the Seat Cushion Ventilation Blower with PN 88993047, and charge the battery.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
