Circuit/System Description

The radio generates the audible warning through the left speaker. The radio receives audible warning requests via Class 2 serial data from the instrument panel cluster (IPC) or the body control module (BCM).

Circuit/System Testing

Important: Before performing this diagnostics, make sure no indicator(s) or DIC message(s) are illuminated after the IPC performs the displays test. If any indicator(s) or DIC message(s) are illuminated after the displays test, perform the indicator or DIC message diagnostics before this diagnostic.

  1. Ignition ON, scan tool installed and headlamp switch OFF, verify the scan tool Headlamp On Switch parameter is Inactive.
  2. If not Inactive, refer to Headlamp Low or High Beams Always On .
  3. Ignition ON, park lamp switch OFF, verify the scan tool Park Lamp Switch parameter is OFF.
  4. If not OFF, refer to Park Lamps Always On
  5. Ignition ON, doors closed, verify the scan tool LF Door Open Switch RF Door Open Switch parameters is Closed
  6. If not Closed, refer to Courtesy Lamps Always On .
