The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The vehicle may exhibit P0603 / P0604 Internal ECM DTCs.
These codes are often caused by low system voltage.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Check for and repair any charging system problems that could cause low system voltage.
Ensure battery is in good condition, including ground.
Do not replace the ECM unless the fault resets during the test drive.
Do not reprogram the ECM.
Intermittent occurrences of these codes are usually caused by low system voltage or intermittent low system voltage.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
