The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
In order to meet 2007 emission requirements, the engine will run somewhat rough for approximately 15 seconds after a cold start. There are no hardware or software updates to address this concern.
Recommendation/Instructions:
DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS OR REPROGRAM THE ECM.
If the cold start rough idle does not clear after approximately 15 seconds of run time, capture a snapshot of the event and send to Frank Guarino at [email protected]. Cold start rough idle may be improved by switching to a different brand of fuel, or using a lower octane fuel, but not below 87 octane.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
