3RD Row Seat Assist Strap Or Handle Broken - keywords folding panel ripped

Owners may comment that the assist strap (figure 1.) or handle (figure 2) for the 3rd row seat back panel is either torn or broken. The piercing process used by the supplier of the components may cause the part to separate.

It is not necessary to replace the complete 3rd row seat back panel. The strap and handle are available separate. The part numbers for the components are as follows.

Strap (Group number 11.620)

88994885 Ebony

19122776 Cashmere

Handle (Group number 11.878)

88994886 Gray

88994885 Ebony

The cashmere handle was incorrectly listed as a retainer and is being corrected however, the part is available. Part number for the cashmere handle is 19122778.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
