Key Learn Unsuccessful After TDM Replacement - keywords deterrent immobilize no security start theft

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

If the Theft Deterrent Module (TDM) is replaced, the Password/Key Learn procedures may not successfully complete, resulting in a No Crank / No Start condition.

When replacing the Theft Deterrent Module also replace the original vehicle keys with new service keys. This will also require the current immobilizer learn procedure #1741214 on the ECM to synchronize passwords, which allows the vehicle to crank and start.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
