Navigation Radio Displays Map Disc Error

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Radio displays "Map Disc Error" when trying to operate navigation portion of radio.

Radio displays "Map Disc Error", this concern may be caused by operator error, make sure the Map disc is installed in the correct slot, located behind the navigation screen. To access this slot, you will need to go to the Navigation menu and select the load Map CD button. You can find the exact instructions and location of the slot in the navigation supplement owner's manual.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
