The latest revision of the 1992 Labor Time Guide, distributed on March 30, includes preliminary time allowances for servicing the 1993 Allante. 1993 Allante information was included in anticipation of the early model announcement. Because the powertrain and chassis systems have undergone major changes, a separate listing has been added for the 1993 model. Times for the 1992 Allante are found in the column identified with an "N" (corresponding to VIN code) and those for the 1993 under column "P".
Following are some of the new items pertaining only to the 1993 Allante:
o A new section for the 1993 Northstar engine titled "Engine Mechanical V-8 Code 9".
o A new transmission section titled "Automatic Transaxle Hydra-Matic 4T80-E".
o Road Sensing Suspension (RSS) system components are located in the Electrical Section from N5650 to N5680.
o Labor Operations for the Speed Sensitive Steering solenoid is E9750, the Speed Sensitive Steering filter is E8420.
All dealerships were sent one copy of the LTG microfiche unless additional copies were ordered. If additional copies of microfiche or paper copies are required, refer to the procedures outlined in GRAM Program, DSIB 90-1-8.
If you have any questions or concerns about the LTG, please contact Ann Haener-Maghran at (313) 554-6946.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
