This bulletin is being revised to indicate coding error in the 1993 mass storage cartridge and supersedes Service bulletin T-92-104 which should be discarded.
There are some code labeling errors in both the 1991/1992 Version 1, 1992 Version 2 chassis cartridges, and the first issue of the mass storage cartridge.
1. Both the 1991 and 1992 (Version 1) cartridge will display code 62 (pump motor fault during ABS) and code 71 (EBCM error) reversed. For example, a code 62 will display when the correct code is a 71 and a code 71 when the correct code is a 62.
2. The 1992 Version 2 chassis cartridge will display code 61 (pump motor test fault) and code 62 (pump motor fault during ABS) reversed. For example, a code 61 will display when the correct code is a 62 and a code 62 when the correct code is a 61. A label on the cartridge will say "Version 2.0".
3. The 1993 mass storage cartridge contains the same coding errors as the 1992 Version 2 chassis cartridge. The mass storage cartridge will be updated to correct these errors with the November 1992 CDROM release.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
