Radio Display Is Scrambled When Receiving An OnStar Call

Subject: Radio Display Is Scrambled When Recieving An Onstar Call

Models:2007 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT
with SuperNav Radio (RPO U3R)


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may state that the navigation screen is scrambled/distorted when receiving an Onstar Inbound Call and when the radio is in one of the following modes:

  1. Rear Camera mode, vehicle in reverse and the navigation screen showing the rear camera image
  2. DVD mode, vehicle in park and customer is watching a DVD on the front navigation screen

A condition exists in the radio software where there is a mis-match in screen resolution and the radio will display a scrambled/distorted image on the front navigation screen

Recommendation/Instructions:

Please don't replace the radio or any other components on the vehicle. Engineering is aware of the concern and will release new software for the radio. This PI will be updated when a fix becomes available

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
