Subject: | Luggage Rack End Caps Missing |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
We have received a few complaints about the luggage rack end caps coming off the vehicle. The inner metal clamp is not retaining the end cap to the stud.
If customer has the endcap, apply silicone or RTV type adhesive/sealer to the roof rail and the endcap boss and re-install endcap.
If the customer does not have the endcap, then new end caps and / or side rails are required.
VIN numbers built prior to 1GYEK63N92R111939 will require a new rail and end cap. The kit contains two endcaps and one side rail.

88943435 LEFT RAIL KIT
VIN numbers built after 1GYEK63N92R111939 will have the new side rail and will only require an end cap. Please do not order the complete luggage rack kit, part numbers 88943434 for the right side, or 88943435 for the left side on those vehicles requiring end caps built after the above noted VIN.
If the customer already has the new rail kit and only requires the endcaps, single replacement paint to match parts are now available through GMSPO.
