Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  4. Remove the caliper bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Disc brakes.
  5. Remove the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  6. Disconnect the anti-lock brake sensor.
  7. Remove the hub and bearing assembly.
  8. Remove any corrosion from the hub mating surface.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the hub and bearing assembly.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the hub mounting bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  3. Reconnect the A.B.S sensor.
  4. Install the caliper bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  5. Install the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  6. Install the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the caliper bracket mounting bolts to 113 N·m (83 lb ft).
        • Tighten the parking brake cable bracket bolt to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
