Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 401598  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power seat switch/lumbar switch assembly.
  4. Remove the seat cushion cover by unhooking the J-channel from the seat frame.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped with heated or power lumbar seats.
  6. Remove the hinge bolts (2).
  7. Remove the seat back frame from the seat back hinge.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat frame to the seat back hinge.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb  ft).

  5. Install the seat cushion cover by hooking the J-channel to the seat frame.
  6. Connect the electrical connectors, if equipped with the heated or power lumbar seats.
  7. Connect the electrical connector power seat switch.
  8. Install the seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .
  9. With the aid of an assistant, install the seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  10. Reposition the seat.
