DEFINITION: LH Front Door Does Not Lock or Unlock From Any Power Door Lock Switch

Did you perform the Power Door Lock System Check?

  1. Remove the LT door unlock relay from the rear compartment relay center 3.
  2. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM) between the LT door unlock relay terminal B4 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 2040 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect the DMM between the LT door unlock relay terminal B6 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 2040 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect the DMM between the LT door unlock relay terminal B5 and terminal B6.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 1250 (BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect a DMM between the LT door unlock relay terminal B4 and terminal A6.
  2. Move the power door lock switch to UNLOCK.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test CKT 1391 (LT GRN) for an open or short to ground.

Is the circuit OK?

Repair the open or short to ground in CKT 1391 (LT GRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the body control module (PZM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

  1. Install the LT door unlock relay into the rear compartment relay center 3.
  2. Disconnect the LH front door lock actuator connector.
  3. Connect a DMM between the actuator connector terminal A and terminal B.
  4. Move the power door lock switch to LOCK and then to UNLOCK.

Is the voltage within the specified range for both switch positions?

10-15 V

Test CKT 694 (TAN) for an open.

Is the circuit OK?
