Did you perform the Power Windows System Check?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative window switch connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Use a digital multimeter (DMM) in order to backprobe between terminal H and B+.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for an open in CKT 167 (TAN).

Is the circuit OK?

Repair the open in CKT 167 (TAN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the LH window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

With the DMM in the same place, press and hold the inoperative window DOWN switch on the LH window switch

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for a short to ground in CKT 167 (TAN).

Is the circuit OK?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 167 (TAN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a DMM between Terminal D and B+ of the inoperative window switch harness.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for an open in CKT 166 (LT BLU).

Is the circuit OK?

Repair the open in CKT 166 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

With the DMM in the same place, press and hold the inoperative window UP switch on the LH window switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for a short to ground in CKT 166 (LT BLU).

Is the circuit OK?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 166 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a DMM between terminal F of the inoperative window switch harness connector and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open or short to ground in CKT 70 (PNK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Reconnect the inoperative window switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative window motor.
  3. Connect a DMM to terminal A and to terminal B of the inoperative window motor harness connector.
  4. Press the inoperative window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the inoperative power window motor. Refer to Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the inoperative window switch connector.
  2. Test for an open or short to ground in CKT 667 (BRN).

Is the circuit OK?
