Removal Procedure

Important: Do not attempt to reinstall the original antenna exterior base or the interior coupling using any type of glue, adhesive tapes, ect. Doing so may eliminate the cellular signal transfer through the glass and reduce the maximum performance of the system that includes air bag deployment.

  1. Remove the left quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 643038 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the cellular coaxial cable (2) from the coupling box (1).
  4. Important: Be careful not to damage the defroster grid lines.

  5. Remove the coupling box from the interior of the rear window using a small flat-bladed plastic tool in order to release the double back adhesive tape.
  6. Remove the cellular antenna base from the exterior of the rear window using a small flat-bladed plastic tool in order to release the double back adhesive tape.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 643038 Size: SH

Important: Do not attempt to reinstall the original antenna exterior base or the interior coupling using any type of glue, adhesive tapes, ect. Doing so may eliminate the cellular signal transfer through the glass and reduce the maximum performance of the system that includes air bag deployment.

  1. Clean the interior and the exterior surface of the rear window in the cellular antenna mounting location, using an isopropyl alcohol pad, a clean lint-free cloth and allow to air dry.
  2. Mark the cellular antenna location with a grease pencil on the exterior surface of the rear window.
  3. Connect the cellular coaxial cable (2) to the coupling box (1).
  4. Allow a cure time of 24 hours at 60°F (16°C) or above in order to achieve maximum bonding of the cellular antenna coupling box.
  5. Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.

  6. Remove the protective film from the adhesive backing of the coupling box.
  7. Install the coupling box to the marked location on the interior surface of the rear window with the cellular coaxial cable toward the headliner.
