When an ignition key is inserted in the ignition switch, the terminals located in the ignition cylinder contact the resistor pellet in the key. The IPC measures the resistance of the key pellet and then compares the resistance to the one stored in the memory. This DTC indicates an internal module malfunction.
The presence of this DTC indicates that the key code or password stored in the IPCs memory is invalid.
