Did you perform the Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System Check?

  1. Connect the scan tool.
  2. Set the scan tool to BCM, Data List Input.
  3. Note the door key cylinder unlock switch.
  4. Lock and unlock the door with the fault.

Does the input cycle from off to on?

--

  1. Disconnect the body control module (PZM) connector C1.
  2. Measure the resistance from connector C1 terminal B4 (LT GRN) to ground while unlocking the LH front door lock cylinder switch with the key.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Measure the resistance from the PZM connector C1 terminal A4 (LT GRN) to ground while unlocking the RH front door lock cylinder switch with the key.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Test the following circuits for an open:

    • CKT 262 (LT GRN)
    • CKT 51 (BLK/WHT)

Are the circuits OK?

Repair the open in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT 262 (LT GRN)
    • CKT 51 (BLK/WHT)

Is the repair complete?

Replace the malfunctioning door lock cylinder switch. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement in Doors.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the PZM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the repair complete?

--

Test the following circuits for an open:

    • CKT 265 (LT GRN)
    • CKT 151 (BLK/WHT)

Are the circuits OK?

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT 265 (LT GRN)
    • CKT 151 (BLK/WHT)
