The radio (IRC) receives the vehicle VIN number from the class 2 serial data line and compares it with the one stored in the radio. If the broadcasted VIN number does not match the one stored in the radio (IRC) the Theftlock feature is enabled.

If the broadcasted VIN number does not match the one stored in the radio (IRC) the Theftlock feature is enabled and DTC 1780 is set as current.

The radio (IRC) displays LOCKED--THEFTLOCK ACTIVE when the radio is turned ON and stores DTC B1780 as current.

When the radio (IRC) receives a VIN number that matches the one stored in the radio (IRC) DTC B1780 changes to history and the Theftlock feature is disabled.

Use a scan tool in order to clear the THEFTLOCK mode.
