Front Fog Lamp Replacement T96
Removal Procedure
Caution: Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly
could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal
injury:
ā¢ | Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing
the bulb. |
ā¢ | Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete. |
ā¢ | Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb. |
ā¢ | Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass. |
ā¢ | Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb. |
ā¢ | Properly dispose of the used bulb. |
ā¢ | Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children. |
- Disconnect the fog lamp socket electrical connector (2).
- Twist counterclockwise
45 degrees in order to remove the bulb (1) from the lamp housing.
- Remove the fasteners retaining the bracket-to-lamp.
- Remove the fog lamp bracket.
- Remove the fog lamp housing from the retention clips.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fog lamp housing
to the retention clips.
- Install the fog lamp bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bracket-to-lamp
fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 6 NĀ·m (53 lb in).
- Install the fog lamp bulb into the housing.
- Twist clockwise 45 degrees the bulb (1) in order
to secure.
- Connect the fog lamp electrical connector (2).
- Aim the fog lamps as needed. Refer to
