  2. Inspect the IPC input: twilight switch.

Inspect CKT 279 (BLK) for an open or short to voltage. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector C1.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between the headlamp switch connector C1 terminal K (YEL/BLK) and ground.

Is the twilight enable switch input on?

Inspect CKT 151 (BLK/WHT) for an open between the headlamp switch and S216. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 151 OK?

Inspect CKT 278 (WHT) for an open or short to ground. Refer to Testing for Continuity or Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 278 OK?

Replace the ambient light sensor. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  1. Connect a scan tool to the datalink connector.
  2. Select the twilight delay from the IPC data list.
  3. Slide the twilight delay switch to the extreme positive position.

Does the twilight delay value change?

  1. Slide the twilight delay switch slowly to the extreme negative position.
  2. The value should gradually decrease. If sudden large decreases are noted, then replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  1. Verify the symptom still exists.
  2. If the symptom still exists, replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Slide the twilight delay switch to the extreme positive position.
  3. Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster (IPC) connector C3 terminal C9 (BLK) and ground

Is the voltage within the specified value?

4.4 - 4.8V

Slide the twilight delay switch to the extreme negative position.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

0.2 - 0.6V
