  1. Disconnect the hazard flasher connector.
  2. Measure the voltage to ground at the hazard flasher connector terminal A (ORN).

Is battery voltage measured?

Go to Step 3

Connect a fused jumper between the hazard flasher connector terminal A (ORN) and terminal B (BRN).

Do the hazard lamps light but do not flash?

Inspect CKT 27 (BRN) for an open or short to ground. Refer to Testing for Continuity or Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 27 OK?

Replace the hazard flasher. Refer to Hazard Lamp Flasher Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Is the turn/hazard switch replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 740 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the suspect wiring. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition?
