  1. Verify proper operation of the mechanical seat belt components. Refer to Operational and Functional Checks .
  2. Sit in the left front seat.
  3. Close the left door.
  4. Buckle the left front seat belt.
  5. Unbuckle the left front seat belt.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position leaving the engine OFF.
    • The fasten seat belt chime sounds for 4 to 8 seconds.
    • The FASTEN BELTS indicator illuminates for 70 seconds.
    •  Fasten Safety Belt Chime Always On in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console
    •  Chime Inoperative in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Buckle the left front seat belt.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position leaving the engine OFF.
    • The fasten seat belt chime does not sound.
    • The FASTEN BELTS indicator illuminates for 5 seconds (bulb check).
    •  Fasten Safety Belt Chime Always On in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console
    •  Chime Inoperative in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Adjust the comfort level of the shoulder belt.
  3. Unbuckle the left front seat belt.
  4. Open the left door.

The left front seat belt retracts when the left door is opened.

  1. Sit in the right front seat.
  2. Close the right door.
  3. Buckle the right front seat belt.
  4. Adjust the comfort level of the shoulder belt.
  5. Unbuckle the right front seat belt.
  6. Open the right door.

The right front seat belt retracts when the right door is opened.
