Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Removal in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  4. Remove the parking brake assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Brakes.
  5. Remove the cross-car brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Disconnect the wiring harness at the retainers.

  8. Disconnect the vacuum lines from the actuators.
  9. Disconnect the 2 vacuum lines from the A/C distributor.
  10. Remove the retaining screws and the distributor from the A/C distributor assembly (2) .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 304987  Size: MH
  1. Install the distributor assembly (2) to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the vacuum lines to the distributor.
  3. Connect the vacuum lines to the actuators.
  4. Connect the wiring harness at the retainers.
  5. Install the cross-car brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Install the parking brake assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Brakes.
  7. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Removal in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  8. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
