Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Disconnect the front cable from the intermediate cable at the adjuster (2).
- Disengage the cable housing nut at the point where the front cable passes through the underbody.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the left sound insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panels, Gauges, and Console.
- Remove the left knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement in Instrument Panels, Gauges, and Console.
- Remove the left I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panels, Gauges, and Console.
- Disconnect the cable from the pedal assembly.
- Remove the cable from the car.
Installation Procedure
- Install the cable on the vehicle.
- Install the cable to the pedal assembly.
- Install the I/P sound insulator.
- Install the left I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panels, Gauges, and Console.
- Install the left knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement in Instrument Panels, Gauges, and Console.
- Install the left sound insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panels, Gauges, and Console.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Engage the front cable to the intermediate cable at the point where the front cable passes through the underbody.
- Connect the front cable to the intermediate cable at the adjuster (2).
- Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .
