Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the air deflector.

    3. Object Number: 289543 Size: SH
  3. Remove the internal spring clips from the engine oil cooler fittings.

    4. Object Number: 289546 Size: SH
  4. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the cooler fittings.

    5. Object Number: 518550 Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine oil cooler quick connect fittings from the engine oil filter adapter.

    6. Object Number: 62328 Size: SH
  6. Remove the oil filter.

    7. Object Number: 62336 Size: SH
  7. Remove the two adapter mounting bolts and partially remove the adapter.
  8. Disconnect the oil pressure switch.
  9. Remove the adapter and discard the O-rings.
  10. Remove the oil pressure switch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 62336 Size: SH
  1. Install the new O-rings. Petrolatum may be used to retain the O-rings in the adapter.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the oil pressure switch to the adapter.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure switch to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  3. Position the adapter near the crankcase and connect the oil pressure switch.
  4. Install the two bolts attaching the oil filter adapter to the engine block.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  5. Install the oil cooler lines, if equipped, using new O-rings.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the O-rings to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Important: Fill the oil filter with the engine oil.

  6. Install the oil filter.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Install the new engine oil cooler quick connect fittings to the engine oil filter adapter.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the quick connect fittings to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  8. Push the engine oil cooler lines fully into the oil cooler quick connect fittings, until a "click" is heard.
  9. Tug gently on the cooler lines to ensure proper retention.
  10. Slide the dust cover over the quick connect joint.
  11. Install the air deflector.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Adjust the oil level to the full mark.
