Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 1999 🢒 Eldorado 🢒 DTC 🢒 DTC C1210 Brake Fluid Level Switch Open

Circuit Description

The IPC determines the brake fluid level by monitoring the IPC connector C2 terminal A11.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The IPC detects that the following components are open:

  1. CKT 51 (BLK/WHT)
  2. CKT 849 (PNK)
  3. The brake fluid level switch

The IPC determines an open if the voltage at connector C2 terminal A11 is greater than 4V for 1 second.

Action Taken (By The IPC)

The IPC illuminates the BRAKE indicator and displays the SERVICE BRAKE FLUID SWITCH driver message center warning message.

Diagnostic Aids
  1. Inspect for an open in one of the following components:
    2. • CKT 51 (BLK/WHT)
    • CKT 849 (PNK)
    • If OK, replace the brake fluid level switch.
  2. If CKT 849 (PNK) is grounded, the IPC illuminates the BRAKE indicator and displays the CHECK BRAKE FLUID message.
