Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement DeVille

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the gas cap.

  2. Object Number: 367498  Size: SH
  3. Remove the nut retaining the latch to the pocket (3).
  4. Remove the screws (5) retaining the filler pipe to the pocket (3).
  5. From inside the wheelhouse, push down and out on the upper surface of the pocket (3) in order to disengage the retaining tab (4).
  6. Remove the fuel filler pocket (3) from the vehicle (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 367498  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel filler pocket (3) to the vehicle (2).
  2. Set in place the bottom of the pocket (3).
  3. Push in the top of the pocket in order to engage the retaining tab (4).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws (5) in order to retain the filler pipe to the pocket (3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the nut in order to retain the latch.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 3 N·m (26.5 lb in).

  8. Install the gas cap.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the gas cap.
  2. Remove the nut retaining the latch.

  3. Object Number: 367500  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 3 screws (4) retaining the filler pipe.
  5. Remove the 4 screws (3) retaining the fuel filler pocket (5).
  6. Remove the fuel filler pocket (5).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 367500  Size: SH
  1. Position the fuel filler pocket (5).
  2. Install the 4 screws (3) in order to retain the fuel filler pocket (5).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   6. Install the latch retaining nut.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 3 N·m (26.5 lb in).

  8. Install the gas cap.
