Rear Seat Armrest Replacement Eldorado

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 298495  Size: SH
  1. Open the doors.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  4. Place the seat back, facing down on a clean protected surface.
  5. Remove the hog rings securing the closeout trim cover to the seat back pad.
  6. Remove the 3 fasteners retaining the armrest bracket assembly to the seat back.
  7. Remove the rear seat center armrest assembly out through the backside of the seat back.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 298495  Size: SH
  1. Install the center armrest assembly into the seat back.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 3 fasteners in order to retain the bracket assembly to the seat back.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  5. Install the rear seat back closeout trim.
  6. Install the hog rings in order to secure the trim to the seat back.
  7. Install the seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  8. Install the seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  9. Close the doors.
